SnipSub - an app that keeps an eye on subscriptions and free trials
From an idea to a working beta: a Figma design, a web app and a browser extension that catches a free trial the moment you sign up and reminds you before the first charge.
How it was made
The task
People pay for 8-15 subscriptions and forget free trials that quietly turn into paid plans. A spreadsheet will not remind you before a charge.
The solution
First a Figma design: dashboard, extension, mobile version and a monochrome design system with glass. Then a working beta - the extension catches a trial at sign-up and asks: keep it or cancel. The dashboard shows every subscription, spending and a payment calendar.
What users taught us
We tested the idea on Threads: the first testers joined the beta, and one of them suggested forwarding receipts with a Gmail filter - importing subscriptions without full inbox access. We renamed SUBBY to SnipSub because several apps called Subby already exist in this category.
